DOJO ACTIVITIES
Kihon - basic training of techniques
Kumite - low, medium, and high speed controlled partner sparring with no or light contact
Kata - Routines of 20-65 moves of varying difficulty designed for students to foster more focus, refine their kihon and improve their kumite.
Group sparring - one student vs many.
Bunkai and Oyo - the analysis and application of movements from kata for self-defense purposes.
Knife defenses
Short stick (Jo) and long stick (Bo) defenses
Bo Kata - incorporating the long staff into kata practice.
Ashi barrai and Ukemi - foot sweeps and falling practice.
