The Japan Karate Association of Montville in conjunction with the UConn Karate Club invites you to attend a team competition to be held on
Saturday, April 13th.
This is a friendly competition and it is open to all ages, ranks, and gender. There will be a class followed by team kata and team kumite events. Details of the competition format are on the next page, along with a page to print and post at the dojo. Black belts waiting to compete or who do not wish to compete are invited to get valuable judging experience.
The purpose of this competition is to learn more about the team aspect of karate, foster better training spirit in this regard, meet new like-minded students from the area and especially to have fun. It will also serve as a warm up for the SKDI 40th Annual Spring Championships held right down the road on Saturday, April 27th.
Please send your teams by Thursday, April 11th or earlier. Teams will also be formed the day of the competition as necessary, so any “remainders” may be placed on a team at the last moment. Direct registration to Abby Please and feel free to reach out to either of us if you have any questions.
Thank you very much and we look forward to seeing you and your students.
Respectfully,
-Bako
